| The Columbia & Hamburg Railroad |
| We publish the Report of the
President of this Road, and direct public attention to it. The road is
designed to run from Columbia, S. C., to Augusta, Ga., in a direct line,
greatly shortening the distance now traveled between the two points, and
promising many advantages in the way of transportation. Work is now
progressing on the road. The officers are: Wm. Johnston of Charlotte,
President; H. Hoore {probably Moore} of
Augusta, Sec'y & Treas.; Directors -- R H May, Henry Moore, B H Warren,
Josiah Sibley, of Augusta; R W Gibbes, R M Johnston, L D Childs, E J
Arthur of Columbia; Tilman Watson of Edgefield; Henry A Meetze of
Lexington; M L Wriston and Wm Johnston of Charlotte, N. C. |
