| Shameless Conduct |
| For the past five weeks there has been at
Bristol, the terminus of the Lynchburg and Bristol Railroad
{Virginia & Tennessee RR}, large quantities
of flour, contained in two warehouses and seventy-five cars, belonging
to parties in New Orleans, awaiting transportation. The Tennessee Road,
from Knoxville to Bristol {East Tennessee &
Virginia RR}, refuses to receive it in consequence of some
difficulty between the two companies. A little more delay might ruin the
entire lot. The government at Richmond should see to this immediately,
and take the matter into its own hands, if the roads in question cannot
settle their private difficulties. |
