From the commercial review of the Houston
Telegraph of the 23d we note: |
***** |
The operations of the railroad companies
exhibit no marked change from the past few weeks. The New Orleans &
Texas {Texas & New Orleans RR} has been
delayed somewhat in laying the track on the Houston-Liberty section, by
having had a large amount of iron submerged by high water. They are,
however, now, we are informed, receiving iron from Galveston, via the
San Jacinto river, and will continue the track-laying at once. The work
of repairing the {Houston & Texas} Central
railroad bridge over Clear creek is progressing, and it will be ready,
we are assured, for the locomotive to pass over, early next week. |
