Southern Railroad Bonds -- Interest Paid |
We learn from the Vicksburg Whig,
of Saturday, that the semi-annual interest due by this company
{Southern (of Mississippi) RR} was promptly
paid. It says: |
We are gratified to learn from De.
Emanuel, vice president of the southern railroad company, that the
semi-annual interest instalment on the bonds of the company, due at the
Bank of America, New York, and at the Girard Bank, Philadelphia, on the
1st January 1861, amounting to nearly fifty thousand dollars, has been
fully paid. In such a crisis, this speaks volumes for the high character
and able management of the officers of the southern railroad company,
and it may be regarded as a certain presage that prosperity and success
will crown its efforts. |
