New Florida Railroad |
Our Florida exchanges are jubilant over
the completion of the great railroad from Jacksonville, on the St.
Johns, to Tallahassee. The trains are now running regularly between the
two places. {Two roads were involved: Florida,
Atlantic & Gulf Central RR and Pensacola & Georgia RR. Other records
indicate the roads met in April, 1860, so there must have been an
upgrading of the service to cause this jubilation (through trains?)} |
