The Mails |
The mail due here on Tuesday night (says
the Vicksburg Whig of the 17th) was received yesterday afternoon, the
indefatigable exertions of the Southern {(of
Mississippi)} railroad company having succeeded in making
connection with Jackson, notwithstanding a great portion of the road was
still under water, and some of it washed out. The cars came through last
night in due time, the road having been repaired and the water subsided. |
