The {Jefferson &}
Pontchartrain Railroad |
The fishing season having set
in, the administration of the Pontchartrain Railroad will send a
locomotive train, which will leave the city in lieu of the horse car,
every Sunday morning, at half-past 4 o'clock, thus affording amateurs an
opportunity to reach the "Croaker Bank" by sunrise. Other changes have
been made in order to accommodate evening promenaders and for the
special benefit of ladies and children, the cars will run, up to 6
o'clock, as far as the head of the wharf, where vast and commodious
sheds have been erected, with benches and other accommodations for the
comfort of the patrons of the road. |
