Afloat Again |
The Charleston Evening News,
of the 23d, says: |
The ship Susan G. Owens, which
got ashore on this bar on Friday afternoon, the 8th inst., with a cargo
of railroad iron, was got afloat yesterday afternoon, after discharging
about two thousand bars of iron, and was towed up to the city by the
steamer Aid. Notwithstanding the bad weather that has prevailed since
she got ashore, and the character of her cargo, the steam pumps kept
here free of water without difficulty, and she gives but little
appearance of being strained. |
