Freights |
We are gratified in being able to state that the
accumulation of freights for shipment by the Nashville & Chattanooga
Railroad has all been sent off, and that the road is now up with the
demands upon it in this respect. The delay was caused by the damage
to the Western & Atlantic Railroad during the freshets in February,
and the heavy stream of freights that has since poured in has taxed
the road to its utmost capacity. The road is now up with the work
and freights will experience no delay nor be subject to extra
charges for storage and drayage. Mr. Cole, the energetic
Superintendent, and his assistants have been untiring in their
efforts to clear their depots, and they have now succeeded, and will
be able to keep them clear for the future. |
