The Memphis Avalanche understands that Col. Sam.
Tate, President of the Memphis & Charleston Railroad has telegraphed
from Cleveland, Ohio, calling a meeting of the stockholders of the
road. He regards war as inevitable, in view of the position taken by
the Inaugural and the feeling exhibited by the Northern people, and
therefore deems it prudent to call a meeting. |
