More Munitions of War for the South |
The Bristol News says quite a stir was created at
the Depot of the East Tennessee & Virginia Railroad in that place on
the 27th. ult., by the arrival of several car loads of warlike
instruments, in transit for Montgomery Ala, consisting of two
immense Columbiads, weighing near 16,000 lbs each, with their
carriages and a quantity of shot and shell. These monster guns were
cast at the Tredegar Works of Joseph R. Anderson, in Richmond, from
whence several trains loaded with munitions of war have recently
been dispatched to the South. |
