Savannah, Ga., January 24th, 1861 |
|
Having been informed that
reports are circulated in the Up Country of Georgia, in Tennessee,
Alabama and Mississippi, (no doubt put forth by interested persons, to
injure Savannah and her Rail Road and Steam Ship Lines,) that the Port
of Savannah is closed by blockade, or by some other means, and that
Goods and Produce may be delayed by this Route. |
This is to give notice to all
interested that the Commerce of this Port is unobstructed and going on
with its usual activity; that our Steam Ships are running as usual and
are likely to continue, and that Shippers can get their Goods, by this
Route and ship their Produce in any direction as certainly and
expeditiously as heretofore. No advance of Freight by the Steam Ship
Lines to this port. |
