The Galveston News of
the 12th, in its commercial article, says: |
The main feature in our cotton
market has been the scarcity of supply, caused by damage to the several
lines of railroad by heavy rains; the same cause together with the
pressure of plantation work, prevents the movement of cotton by teams;
and it is probable, under the circumstances, that but little cotton will
be received during the present month, beyond the deliveries from Trinity
and Brazos river by steamboats. |
