| We would call attention of
capitalists and others seeking safe investments to the advertisement of
the Shelby & Broad River Railroad Company in another column of this
paper. This Road will run through the limestone and iron region of this
State, and is ultimately intended to give our Iron Factories railroad
connection with the Coal Mines of North Carolina and Virginia. It is,
therefore, a work of considerable importance in the development of our
internal resources and means of communication. |
| By a wise foresight, the Company are
enabled, without disadvantage to receive payment of subscriptions to its
Capital Stock in our present currency. |
| The par value of the shares is $100 each.
Subscriptions and payments will be received at the Office of Mr. W. B.
Heriot, Mary street, until the 20th March next. |
| Should the contemplated Road from Atlanta
to Anderson be built, which it no doubt will be, the Shelby &
Broad River Railroad will then become a part of the Air Line Road from
Atlanta to Richmond, as the selection of this Road will save a distance
of sixty miles over all other Roads. |
