| Shelby & Broad River Railroad |
| We regret to learn that thee subscriptions
to this Road have been small in this city, but are glad, however, to say
that the capital required to receive the charter has been obtained. The
Company, we are advised, will soon be organized and commence operations,
which, however, can only be carried on vigorously by the aid of a large
subscription. This patriotic enterprise, having for its end the
development of the mineral wealth of our State in the production of iron
from our rich and inexhaustible ores, requires no recommendation, and
should at once receive a generous support from our patriotic
capitalists. This is the last day for receiving subscription to the
capital of this Company, and the books will be found open at the
Insurance Office of Mr. Wm. B. Heriot, No. 179 East Bay. |
