| The siege of Knoxville was raised last
Friday night. Our forces are falling back slowly to Morristown, where
a stand will probably be made. The work of putting the East Tennessee
& Virginia Rail Road in running order to that point will be
rapidly pushed forward by Col. Owen, {President}
of the Virginia & Tennessee Rail Road, who is entrusted
with it. |
