| Regular Meeting of the City Council |
| The regular monthly meeting of
the City Council was held at the City Hall at 3 o'clock yesterday
afternoon. |

| The following petitions and
communications were received and acted upon as follows: |

| A petition of Mullikin &
Harrell asking permission to use the Railroad running through the
city, for the transportation of their materials, &c. Granted. |
| A petition from Wm. Johnston,
President of the Columbia & Hamburg Railroad Company, asking for
the right of way for the Road through the city. Referred to the
Committee on Railroads to report to the Council. |
| A petition from E. W. Cole,
Superintendent of the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad, asking
permission to run a railroad track across Kollock street. Granted. |
