| A Good Beginning |
| We learn that in an hour and a
half after the books of the subscription to the Columbia & Hamburg
railroad were opened, over $80,000 was subscribed, chiefly in small
amounts. The sum allotted to Augusta is $300,000, and we have no
doubts it will be raised without difficulty. |
