| Your letter of the 14th in relation to our
increase of the tariff for govt. transportation over your road is
before me. |
| As you were not present at the last
meeting of railroad officers in Richmond I presume you are not aware
that the rates have already been advanced. Troops to 15c per mile and
2nd class to $2.50 |
| If this is unsatisfactory please give me a
statement of the operations of your road in its receipts &
expenses for last six months and I will take into consideration the
propriety of a further increase. |
