| General, |
| In the absence of Col Sims I have to
acknowledge your favor of blank date. Owing to the very great pressure by Govt. to
forward supplies and the damage to the Piedmont Road by the late rains
I regret that it will be impossible to interfere with the present
disposition
of transportation to have your clothing ordered out for a week or two.
The Col is at present visiting the different roads with a view to
expedite matters. I will telegraph him in relation to your case and hope
he will be able to
aid you. |
| The writer whom you doubtless remember at
Savannah offers you his congratulation ??? and best wishes. |
| Very respectfully |
| Your obdt Sert |
