| Sir, |
| As you have been advised, I have taken
steps to obtain additional rolling stock for the East Tenn & Va
Rail Road. I have not learned to what extent my efforts will be
successful. In the meantime, I would be glad to know at what rates and
to what extent you may with your present equipment transport live
stock -- beef cattle -- from Knoxville{, Tenn.}
to Bristol{, Va.}. Also what quantity of
packed beef, and at what rate, your road may be able to transport from
Knoxville to Bristol. I suggest that every deficiency in your stock of
cars etc may be temporarily supplied by an arrangement with Mr.
Campbell Wallace {President, East Tennessee
& Georgia}. I request your prompt attention to the
inquiries made in this matter. |
