| On application from
this Bureau the Hon Sec'y of War has authorized the removal of the
iron from the Gainesville Branch {Mississippi,
Gainesville & Tuscaloosa RR} of the
Mobile & Ohio R. R. In so doing however he directs that
negotiations be attempted for purchase of the iron from the company,
at a reasonable price, and if this cannot be done the power of
impressment may then be resorted to. |
