IV Maj. Kearny A. J. Genl is ordered to proceed forthwith to Victoria and to secure the rolling stock of the Rail Road {San Antonio & Mexican Gulf RR} at that point. Should the post of Saluria fall {on the eastern end of Matagorda Island}, he will make use of the State or Confederate Troops, to tear up rails, burn ties, and destroy the road.
   Maj. Kearny is charged with this duty on account of a report having reached here that Col Bradfute was captured by the enemy. Should Col Bradfute be at Saluria, Maj. Kearny will consult with him, and act in conformity with his orders, as he has been full instructed by the Comdg Genl as to the course to be pursued, should he find it necessary to evacuate Saluria. *****

XX Capt Jno. E. Gaven Dist Qr Mr is hereby directed to furnish transportation from Harrisburg to Alleyton for such RR Iron as ma be, from time to time, required by Capt E. L. Heriot Insptg Engr Rail Roads in the construction of the Rail Road (Alleyton & Colorado extension) {Columbus Tap RR} when such transportation shall not directly interfere with the transportation of troops.

XX In consequence of the anticipation fall of the Washington Co Rail Road Bridge which your report says may happen at any moment, you will direct an Engine to be kept on either bank of the Brazos, that transportation may still be carried on, replacing the Bridge by a ferry, in case the bridge should be destroyed.
