| Your note relative to transportation of
gun boat iron is received. It will be necessary to make application
either to General Beauregard or to the War Dept. I have no authority
over the trains of the Augusta & other southern roads running to this
point, they being under the special control of Major Sims Chf of R. Rd.
bureau & employed, I believe altogether in transportation of corn &
cotton. |
