Richmond April 27 1861
   At a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Central Rail Road Company present

   Resolved, that the Genl Superintendent be authorised to purchase a cheap uniform for such of the operatives connected with the Company at Richmond as may meet themselves with a Military Company for the protection of the Company's property, who he thinks can not afford to purchase their own uniform
   The following change was made in the Contract for finishing the Road to Covington
Richmond Va April 27 1861
   It is mutually agreed between the undersigned Contractors and the Virginia Central Railroad Company to change the terms of the contract for finishing the Section from the terminus to Covington in the following measures viz The Contractors agree to receive Fifty per cent in Cash, twenty five per cent in the Stock of the Compy and twenty five per cent in the bonds of the Compy at twenty five per cent payable one half in one year the other half in two years in denominations of ten, twenty, fifty and one hundred dollars bearing six per cent interest payable annually. This arrangement to commence with the estimates payable on the first day of June.
   It is further agreed that if it should be impracticable for the Company to obtain the Cash necessary for the payments mentioned above the Contractors will accept the suspension of the work either partial or total, two weeks notice being given
