In reference to the claim of the Ravenna Navigation Company to be allowed to widen their canal and asking that the Railroad be immediately put under contract on another location not interfering with the Canal with RR. Richardson under his bid of the ?th March but the Board decided
1st That whenever this work of changing the Railroad is done the contract must receive the sanction of the Engineer of this Company and be executed under his supervision; but that it was not expedient to take any measures in constructing the proposed new line until this question of the damages for the right of way was settled.
2nd That even if the arbitrators should decide that the Ravenna Company held the prior right of way they are not willing to assume the whole expense of a new location but that the proposition of the Prest under date of 22d Sept 1860 should be submitted to the decision of the arbitrators and that they reserve the right to change their bridges if they think proper to do so unless the arbitrators shall award a division of the cost of changing the location of the Railroad.
