| Near Demopolis April 12d 1862 |
| A called meeting of the board of Directors
of the Alabama & Mississippi Rivers Rail Road Company was held this date
the residence of the President near Demopolis. There were president G G
Griffin President an Directors James L. Price Charles Walker, John W
Lapsley and W P Bocock. The following proceedings were had and
resolutions adopted it was |

| Resolved That the President be and he is
hereby authorized to make with North East and Southwest
{Alabama} Rail Road Company such
arrangements as he may deem best, by securing for a term of years, or
otherwise, the road of the latter Company, from Reagan to Demopolis so
as to ensure on the completion of the road to Meridian prompt and
regular transportation of all troops munitions of war and other property
of the government without change of cars or other detention in passing
from one Road to the other. |
