Rented one locomotive from Atlantic & North Carolina Railroad for 3 months and one from the Seaboard & Roanoke Railroad for 1 month.

1863

August 30 telegram says the road has just refurbished a Richmond-made locomotive purchased from the Richmond & York River RR and intends to call it "Governor Vance." This would have to be the Atlantic.

October 1, 1864

Annual Report of this date says that 4 locomotives have been purchased from other roads and the government, but no details are provided. Job Terry was a government locomotive, captured in 1862.
