The rail is of the best English iron, T pattern, and weighs fifty-six pounds to the yard. Chairs are eight pounds each, of wrought iron. Cross-ties, about 2250 per mile, principally of oak and long-leafed or heart pine. The gauge, according to law, is five feet six inches. |
