Below are Government shipments out of Raleigh, N. C.
from late January to mid February, 1864. These are found in the
National Archives, filed in the Citizens File, under the name of W.
T. Womble, the North Carolina RR Agent in Raleigh.

I have no way of knowing if this is a record of
all the Government shipments out of Raleigh on the North Carolina RR
during this period or not, but it is interesting to see what was
being shipped, where it was going and the variety of railroads whose
cars are involved. Shipments to Richmond
would have been on the Raleigh & Gaston RR and are not captured
below.
