Milledgeville & Macon Telegraph Form |
| Dated Vicksburg 27 1863 |
| To Gov Joseph E Brown |
| |
| I made application to the
Secretary of war in reference to Major Scrivens iron as I promised and
have this day telegraphed asking suspension of action as to taking it
until Major Scrivens letter is which I fully concur is submitted |
| W. M. Wadley |
| {Up to this date, I
have seen no sign of the Governor being involved in the iron issues of
any railroad, except the Western & Atlantic RR, so I assume the
iron in question here was desired for the W&A RR} |
| {The date of March
27, 1863 comes from an archivist's notation on the top of the
telegram} |
