| The hand car has been
promised me from day to day and if it does not come Monday from Marion
I will send for it. Capt. Wurzback has not recd the iron from
Columbiana belonging to the Tenn Road {Alabama
& Tennessee River RR} -- he supposes that it is still lying
at the depot at Columbiana. I have seen Mr. Andrews & he says that
at present he cannot possibly furnish the cars as he promised owing to
the heavy demand for rolling stock from the Miss Road {Alabama
& Mississippi Rivers RR} to transport troops. As soon as
this is over he will make some definite arrangement -- meantime he
promises to keep you well supplied with coal provided you let him know
two or three days before you get out. *** The Decatur will be out next
week. *** |
