H. H. Allen Esq who was appointed Engineer to examine
the Washington County Rail Road is now here and passed over our Road
to day and will on tomorrow pnpon his Report. The application for the
loan and for the land bonus was forwarded to Genl Houston some time
before his retirement from the Gubernatorial chair, and until I
inquired of you at Austin I supposed the application had been duly
filed with the Commissioners. I now enclose to you another application
for the loan and that you will see Gov. Clark, and the Attorney Genl.
and have the former appointment refilled and the application duly
entered. We hope to forward within a few days, a favorable report.
Confident that we have constructed a good and substantial Road. Your
early attention to this much oblige. |
