Dear Sir,
At our annual meeting of Stockholders in Octr I made enquiry of our Actg Supt. Mr. Mitchell if the Annual Report had been made to your office, and he said it was made out & he presumed Mr. J. O. Wheeler Supt. had sent it before he left for Mexico (on act of ill health) early in the past summer, but he could not tell, had not recd any acknowledgement, and could find nothing of the document. Mr. Wheeler is still absent. Mr. Mitchell feared it had not been sent forward & I instructed him to make out another at once -- he was then ill, and by letter recd this week from our Conductor I learn he is now (Mr. Mitchell) very ill and entirely unable to write & make up another return, but that Mr. Wheeler was looked for back very soon. In the present confusion of matters in the vicinity of our Road, it is quite impossible under these circumstances, till Mr. Wheelers return to do anything in the matter, but it shall be attended to on his arrival home if it has not already been done & sent forward by Mr. Wheeler, as Mr. Mitchell thinks. I regret there should be any delinquency.

P. S. If you have recd any report, please so advise me.
