| When you make collections from the
Confederate States please pay over to C. F. Vance Esq Treas Three
Thousand Dollars and take up our bill for that amount which he holds;
The balance please pay over to Dr R. H. Riker Charleston S. C. on a/c
of our notes held by them; taking up the notes as far as you can pay
them in full and a receipt for the balance on a/c of the remaining
notes. Enclosed I hand you a letter addressed to Dr R H Riker upon the
subject which please read and deliver. If you have not made
collections and wish to return home please have all the papers
to Mr Keating who will transact the business for the Co. of course I
prefer that you would close the whole thing up yourself before
returning. |
