| Collision on the Orange Railroad |

| Received Wilmington 10:10 P.M. |
| A collision occurred today on
the Orange {& Alexandria} Railroad
between two trains. Col. Kershaw's South Carolina regiment was on
board -- two of his men were seriously and others slightly injured.
Two Virginians and a negro were killed. It is supposed the collision
was caused by treachery or carelessness. The Engineer has absconded. |
