| The Legislature |
| The Senate has passed the bill
to aid the completion of the Wil., Char. & Ruth. Railroad {Wilmington,
Charlotte & Rutherford RR}. It grants the Company
$1,000,000 in State bonds -- the State to have a lien on the Road as
security. A bill to aid the Fayetteville Coal Fields Railroad has also
passed the Senate {the Western RR}. |

Danville Connection {eventually the
Piedmont RR} bill, or something nearly
similar to it, and the Military bill have passed the House. The House
has amended the Revenue bill so as to tax State Bonds. A bill has
passed the Senate removing the restrictions on the Western N. C. Road. |
