| Gordonsville, Oct. 24 |
| There was a reported cavalry skirmish at
Beale's Station yesterday: |
| The enemy attempted to capture our wagons,
engaged in hauling railroad iron from the torn-up track. They were
attacked by our cavalry, and driven off. |

probably from the Orange & Alexandria RR which Lee's army had
totally destroyed from Bristoe to Rappahannock the week before.} |
