| Accident |
| On Tuesdayevening last, as the mail train
on the Richmond & Danville Railroad was going up from Richmond,
when near News Ferry it was discovered that the express car had taken
fire on the inside by sparks communicated from the engine.
Every attempt to arrest the flames proved ineffectual, and the car
with its entire contents was consumed. |
