| Railroad Accident |
| Yesterday afternoon, about 2
o'clock, the up passenger train on the M. & B. R. R. {Macon
& Brunswick RR} met with a serious accident. The trestle
work over Savage Creek, about twenty miles from here, gave way,
precipitating the engine into the creek, killing the engineer and
fireman instantly. |
| We learn that the engineer was
the son of Jonathan Collins, Esq, one of our most respected citizens. |
