The Charlotte Railroad {Charlotte
& South Carolina RR} passenger and
freight depots, workshops, round house, etc., together with several
engines and numerous cars, were destroyed; also, a quantity of
printing and other material on the platforms. The dwelling house on
the premises of the company, used as a boarding house for the
employees, was not burnt.
