Sad Accident -- Two Men Killed
Special Dispatch to the Houston Telegraph
Dickinson's Bayou, Dec. 19, 1861, 4 P. M.
Two soldiers employed on the water train {Galveston, Houston & Henderson RR}, which runs between here and Galveston, were killed this evening by falling under the cars.
The train was in motion when one of the men who had failed to get on when the train started, attempted to jump from the platform on to a flat car, and in doing so, he caught hold of one of his companions, when they both went under together.
The operator there learns their names were Franklin and Anderson. They were badly cut up. They belonged to Virginia Point.
