Financial -- East Tennessee & Georgia Railroad
We understand that the Depository at this place, Dr. J. G. M. Ramey, sold yesterday to Major Wallace, President of the East Tennessee & Georgia Railroad company, four hundred thousand dollars worth of 8 per cent. coupon bonds, and that the same officer has ordered an additional hundred thousand dollars worth of these securities -- making altogether the handsome investment of half a million of dollars for his company. The investment itself, at 8 per cent., will be a great addition to the already large revenue of the company.
We congratulate the stockholders upon the prosperous condition of this road, and the financial skill and efficiency of their presiding officer.
