Major Sims has shown me your letter, referring to the
delay of my Messengers at Wilmington, for want of transportation. I
did not mean to complain of the Wil. & Wel. Road
{Wilmington & Weldon RR}, as the
messengers were going on to Charleston & Augusta; but the delay was
occasioned by the Wil. & Man. R {Wilmington &
Manchester RR}, and it was with this corporation that I
desired you to exert your influence. How can matters be remedied
there hereafter? Please advise me. |
