| An Act to Amend the Charter of the Atlantic, Tennessee &
Ohio Railroad |

| Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of the State of North-Carolina, and it is hereby
enacted by the authority of the same, That the act entitled "an act
to incorporate the Atlantic, Tennessee & Ohio Railroad Company," passed
at the session of the General Assembly in the year 1854-'55, be amended
by adding the following section, viz: |
| "Be it enacted, That
the said company shall have the exclusive right of conveyance,
transportation of persons, goods, merchandize and produce over said
railroad, at such charges as may be fixed on by the board of directors." |
| Sec. 2. Be it further
enacted, That all parts of the said act of incorporation which
conflict with the foregoing section be, and the same are hereby
repealed. [Ratified the 17th day of December, 1862] |
