| In reply to special order #534 of this day
I have the honor to state, that Captain Herriot be ordered to
superintend the necessary repair on the H. & N. O. R. R.
{Texas & New Orleans RR} and as for the
necessary force they will have to come from the labor bureau as the one
hundred negroes which I have ordered to this place from Galveston have
already arrived and are as work under Lt. Kleinpter. |
| At the same time the fifty negroes to be
sent by Capt Andrews to report to Col. Gentry instead coming here will
in no manner prevent the prosecution of the most important works at this
place. |
