| In reply to your communication of this
date, making the inquiry as to what the monthly requisitions at this
post for Drayage amounts to, I will state that the annual total of
my establishment for Drayage of government items in this city for
eight months, commencing on the 1st day of April & closing on
the 30th day of November 1861 is $16,819.65, making the ??? of
$2,101.55 per month. |
| I have calculated what amount it
requires to purchase Drays, teams, to hire the necessary number of
drivers and laborers and all the continual expenses of carrying on
the city transportation of the government, of which I enclose a
statement for your information. |
