General,
The Conductor 'Rogers' complained of by Col. Furgerson is absent from here on duty. So soon as he returns, I have ordered, that he report immediately to me. I do not know what position his -- Rogers' train occupied in the number of trains sent over that evening but before the -- 7 or 8 -- trains left Corinth, I gave orders that the first trains leaving should go direct to Memphis, and that the two rear trains should take suitable cars to bring the battery at Grand Junction, and Capt. McDonald's at Gaulsburg. I learn from the Supt. of Memphis & Charleston Road that my orders were carried out. Capt McDonald's Battery arrived at Corinth the next morning.
Very Respectfully
Your obt. Svt.
Robt B. Hurt
Mil Supt. R Road
