| I have received a letter from the
President of the Seaboard & Roanoke R. R. informing me that the rolling
stock and moveable property of that road will be moved to the line of
the Raleigh & Gaston Road where most of it has already been carried. He
also states that a large portion of the rolling stock and supplies of
the road will be disposed of, and wishes to know whether the Government
desires to purchase them, and also the rails which are being removed
from the track. You will please inform me what answer to make to this
inquiry. If not sold to the Government, the stock, supplies and rails
will be disposed of to other rail road companies. |
