| Since my letter addressed to you, asking
that I might be allowed to drop from my property returns certain cars,
I have received receipts from Col. W. W. Wadley, for all but three. |
| One of these three is now at Meridian,
Miss and by your order the Q. M. there will receipt to me for it,
& the other two, still missing, are supposed to have been
captured, as explained in my last letter. |
| I now respectfully request that I may be
allowed to drop from my returns the two last named cars. In my recent
trips, I sought for them diligently, but was unable to find any trace
of them. |
